Skill Builder: Make 1 Purl & Elongated Stitches
Date(s) - Sat, September 30, 2017
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Over The Rainbow Yarn
For this month’s Building in Color Skill Builder class, we’ll cover Make 1 Purl and Elongated Stitches using two colors. You’ll learn how Make 1 Purl differs from other types of increases, and how you can use it to create a unique all-over multi-colored texture. Elongated stitches are used for surface decoration (especially attractive in variegated yarns!) and in drop stitch lace, an elegantly simple lace style. Since this is a Skill Builder class, we’ll be knitting two squares which can be used to complete a sampler afghan during class, but you get to take your new skills home with you to apply to all your future projects!
This class series is meant for intermediate knitters who are confident in their basic knitting skills to expand their knitting horizons and explore techniques that use multiple colors. You do not have to be signed up for other Skill Builder classes to take this one!
Prerequisites: Basic knitting skills (knit, purl, increase, decrease, etc)
Materials: Any yarn in 2 colors & knitting needles to match your yarn
Note: When you sign up for this class on our website, on the phone, or by e-mail, we will reserve a spot for you. You may pay in-store on the day of class or earlier.
Bookings are closed for this event.
