Mid-Coast Mitten Tree 2015
Date(s) - Mon, August 24, 2015 - Sun, November 29, 2015
Over The Rainbow Yarn
The weather pundits and almanacs predict another cold and snowy winter and that means kids need to keep their hands warm! To help with this, we’re sponsoring our third Annual Mid-Coast Mitten Tree. This year’s color is blue. Though we’ll accept mittens in any color you want to knit with, we’ll have specials on Berroco Vintage, DK, worsted or chunky, in any shade of blue. That means if you buy one skein of Vintage and bring back a skein’s worth of mittens, we’ll replace your skein…as many times as you want to keep knitting mittens.
Drop off mittens at Over The Rainbow Yarn and we’ll hang them on the tree. After Rockland Main Street Festival of Lights on Saturday, November 28th, 2015, we’ll take the tree with all its mittens to AIO Food Pantry for distribution. In past years, we’ve been able to donate over 75 pairs of mittens (and the occassional hat or pair of slippers!) each year, in all sizes and styles. With your help, we’d like to reach 100 pairs this year.
It’s simple. Just keep knitting and dropping off mittens and we’ll make sure the children of Knox county stay warm.
As usual, if you have any questions, you can email, call the shop, drop by or comment here or on Facebook.
