Linen Stitch with Lauren
Date(s) - Sat, June 17, 2017

Over The Rainbow Yarn
Linen stitch is a simple and beautiful stitch that makes knitting look like weaving. It’s particularly great for variegated yarns because it blends the colors to minimize color pooling.
In this class, Lauren will teach you how to do the linen stitch both flat and round. In the process, we’ll make a pair of simple muffatees (fingerless mitts without the thumb gussett) based on Lauren’s original pattern, written up just for this class! We’ll also learn the picot cast on, which you may use if you want your muffatees to have a ruffled edge.
Once you learn the linen stitch, it’s also fun to experiment with switching colors every row or every other row because the colors are blended from one row to the next!
- 1 Skein Malabrigo Rios or other worsted weight yarn, preferably variegated
- US 7 double pointed needles or long circular if you prefer magic loop
- Two 3/4 inch buttons
- Must be able to cast on, knit, purl, and knit in the round using double points (or a long circular needle using magic loop) independently
- This class is suitable for advanced beginners
